Dammit Jim!

I was making an favicon for the Darwin’s Origin of Species RSS feed site I’m putting together, when I realized I was fulfilling a creationist stereotype. If you too would like to have an Icon of Evolution, here are a 16×16 favicon and a 16,32,64-pixel Darwin icon files. (On Windows: Download the bigger one, Right-click a folder, go to Customize, click Change Icon and select darwin.ico)

It seems the first post is especially difficult. I hope things get easier with time.

After putting it off for years, I finally got a homepage. Strangely there wasn’t a whole lot of competition for the sherrillmix domain name. Just wait until one of the three of us becomes famous. I’ll be rolling in the cash then. Anyway, I figure I better put something on here or it’s going to look pretty empty so I’m going to give this blogging thing a shot.

I got my degree in biology but am currently doing a lot of programming. Since I make quite a few mistakes, I figure I’ll try saving some of the stupid mistakes I make in programming for the few people less computer inclined than me to learn from and the large majority to laugh and point at. And if nobody ever reads this, it’ll still be handy for me when I forget in a few months and do the same stupid things again.

Also the girlfriend, Xiaofen, is always trying to cook new fancy things so I thought it might be fun for her to try to show off some of her recipes. We’ll see if that turns out but if she enjoys it then there could be some good Chinese recipes on here.

Not much of a mission statement but I guess it’ll grow or die out naturally.
