Exactly. I figured they were in some imaginary mountain range in Africa once they ran into the Nile but Europe would make more sense (except for the detour through the jungle and the south end of the Nile). I guess biology and history might take a little work to get right (not that much really) but you'd think they could at least bother to open a map. Funny stuff.

I also saw the movie just now! and thought the same thing!

Mammoths running!? corn!?

I also wondered where the journey exacly went! In the beginning I thought: O.K. we're somewhere in central eurasia with a hunter-gatherer tribe and some ancient persian tribe (exelent casting on the persians!) hunts for slaves, the survivors follow them across the kaukasus (or Korpet Dag Mountains for all I care), and reaches the green-triangle where the first farming tribes evolved....... so far so good!

But then.... Negroid tribes (WHAT!)
and then the journey takes them allong the nile river (I guess) to egypt!?!? (I wonder how those pyramid builders got the huge ammount of Mammoths to Egypt!!)

What route did those hunters take to get there!

!?!?!

I did however enjoy watching the movie.....
